One Sure Way to Get Demons

There is one sure way to get demons. One thing you don’t want to do that could get you possessed by evil spirits. Let me first explain the most common ways that people become demonized. First, by ancestral bloodline inheritance. Having ancestors who were evil and committed heinous deeds doesn’t automatically mean you will get a demon because of their actions; however, you could be more susceptible to evil tendencies that you inherited from these godless forebears. If you did get a demon from something your ancestors did, it’s not a fatal spiritual condition. By breaking curses and renouncing their deeds you can be readily delivered from bloodline evil.

Here is why it’s easier to be free from spiritual oppression by renunciation of ancestral sins. Your moral will in the here-and-now did not actively participate in these bloodline evils. Inherited evil consequences, though they can be quite serious, have less power over a person than the evil that an individual deliberately commits. I am not diminishing the imprecations of bloodline ancestry and the danger such evil represents. I’m just saying that because your present-day volition was not actively involved, inherited evil doesn’t have as much power to work in your life compared to a willful sin of your own choice.

It’s more serious when demons enter because YOU did something which gave them permission. If I’m ministering to someone who has a demon because of ancestral evil, I can argue against any demonic claims because the affected progeny gave no valid consent. This generational spiritual matter is consequential, not deliberately collaborative. The evil of an ancestor is not necessarily fully binding on a present-day person. But what an individual does in this life can be binding because the power of choice is involved.

Not all occult sins a person commits are engaged with informed consent. For example, a demon might enter through a person going to see an energy healer, such as a reiki practitioner. It could be argued that the person doing this should have known better.  But the fact is, there was no deliberate evil intention. On the other hand, a Christian who goes to a voodoo priest to cast a spell on some perceived enemy, like an ex-lover, IS engaging in willful, deliberate demonism. I’ve known Christians who have done such things which constituted the consent of their will.  That kind of sin is going to result in much stronger demonic possession.

What I’m describing may seem like theological hair splitting and making much ado about the finer points of spiritual warfare. But when it comes to getting someone delivered, the devil is often in the details. So, if the devil torments you, I have a question; Were you fully aware of what you were doing when you engaged in some occult sin? Did you know that contacting that psychic or fortune teller would open your life to demons? Or were you unsuspecting?

In a practical sense the consequences may be the same. But easily getting rid of the demon by removing its legal right may depend on whether the demonization was by informed consent. Either way if you get a demon, YOU may not be able to argue these finer points of spiritual law. It’s going to take someone experienced in exorcism and deliverance to confront the demon and demand the cancellation of the legal rights. It helps if the demons are ordered to leave because of inadequate disclosure regarding the spiritual engagement leading to the possession. Better yet to abide by First Thessalonians 5:22 and “abstain from all appearance of evil.”

An Encouraging Word

GOD SEES THE HEART

In my personal Bible studies, I’ve been lately reviewing the Old Testament. Right now I’m in First Samuel. I was reminded again of that classic passage when the Lord chose David as the future king of Israel. Lest the prophet Samuel choose the wrong man, the Lord told him, “Do not look at his appearance . . . the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). That’s what God sees when he looks at you. You can’t dress up your sins with outward displays of spirituality. You can’t overcome your moral inconsistences with a phony exterior. You may trick people for a while, but the Lord will never be fooled.
