This last week news surfaced about yet another brutality under so-called ISIS, Islamic-State, rule. Children were being crucified alive for supposedly violating Muslim rules about fasting during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, commemorating the revelation of the Koran to Mohammed. Thirty-eight tourists, mostly British, were slaughtered on a Tunisian beach by a proclaimed “soldier of the caliphate” who targeted vacationers labeled as indulging in “vice and apostasy.” ISIS also released a pamphlet explaining how to capture and rape female non-believers, including children, and use them as sex slaves. In Kuwait radical Muslims blew up a mosque, killing 27 people, simply because they belonged to the wrong branch of Islam. Homosexuals under ISIS rule were thrown to their deaths from tall buildings. Christianity is rapidly disappearing from Syria and Iraq, early cradles of Christianity.
And what was President Obama doing? Gloating over his Supreme Court victories on health care and gay marriage issues. If you’re a member of the LGBT community or a previously uninsurable individual in need of medical attention, you may have celebrated; but let’s put things into balance. Why all the political attention to social agenda issues and by contrast mostly silence on America’s, and the world’s, #1 threat to peace and stability, which is the brutality of radical Islam? And why does the President and his Administration still refuse to use the term “radical Islam?”
A President, and our government, has limited time and resources to focus on keeping the public safe. Wise choices must be made about where the emphasis for peace and security needs to be. Satan has blinded the eyes of our leaders to the horrors of radical Islam to the extent that the death and suffering of so many goes unnoticed. This avoidance of forcefully confronting militant Muslims is truly demonic. As an American I am embarrassed that our President this past week was more concerned about bragging rights than the lives of innocent women and children. The truth is that all Americans, gay or straight, insured or uninsured, face an enemy that wants us all dead. This is a spiritual war, a clash of faiths and values. The enemy knows it, why don’t we?
An encouraging word: CHRIST WILL RECEIVE YOU
“Whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (“in no wise cast out” KJV). These words of Jesus in John 6:37 represent one of the most enduring promises in Scripture. We often speak of the sinner “receiving Christ” but it’s equally true that no matter what an individual’s spiritual condition, Christ is ready to receive that person with open arms. Some people avoid repentance because they think they’re unworthy of salvation or that they must somehow morally improve before the Lord will take them into His fold. But God wants you just the way you are, even broken and spiritually bruised. If you’re never received Him, do it now, because today is the day He will receive you.
