The U.S. Congress has passed a massive $2.3 trillion 5,600-page spending bill with assistance for those whose finances have been affected by COVID-19. The bill includes $600 each for many Americans. But buried among the outlandish recipients of government handouts is a strange item benefiting the leader of Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama. The atheistic Chinese government has long loathed all religion, including Buddhism. Because the Dalai Lama has led resistance to the communist regime, Washington politicians have decided he is worthy of American taxpayers’ money.
The bill declares that U. S. Government supports “the wishes of the 14th Dalai Lama, including any written instructions, which should play a key role in the selection, education, and veneration of a future Dalai Lama.” According to this provision, China has constantly interfered in the choice of Tibet’s spiritual leader by insisting that the reincarnation of living Buddhas (the Dalai Lama is one) should follow Chinese law. In short, a portion of your hard-earned income, paid in taxes, is going to support belief in reincarnation and the claim that the Dalai Lama is a living god.
Here are the facts. The Dalai Lama is believed to be 14th incarnation of the Bodhisattva/Buddha of compassion. His official name is Holy Lord, Defender of the Faith, Ocean of Wisdom, His Holiness, the Presence. When a Living Buddha dies, it is believed that he incarnates again as a benevolent ruler, chosen by a ranking High Lama who consults a female guardian spirit (Palden Lhamo – Jezebel!) at a sacred lake. This is how the current Dalai Lama was chosen, and how the next one will be selected, by occult divination with a demon!
As a Christian, I wonder what would happen if taxpayer’s money were used to help fund the next selection of a Pope or influence the vote of who leads the Southern Baptists or Assemblies of God. That would be unthinkable. Any amount of money donated without taxpayer consent to further the belief in reincarnation and the legitimacy of Buddhist beliefs is a clear violation of church and state. Dollars for the Dalai Lama is one more sign that America has abandoned its Judeo-Christian foundation.
